This necklace defines the very essence of Edwardian Jewelry. A marvel of classic engineering and old world hand-made craftsmanship, this necklace has withstood the test of time to sparkle and glitter on the neck of the lucky girl who gets it. This fine Antique Diamond and Emerald necklace was made in the late 19th century (circa 1870). The base of this necklace is made from 18k yellow gold while the diamonds are set in silver. The prongs which hold the emeralds in place are made from 18k yellow gold. The centerpiece of this Crown Jewel is a 5 carat pear Shaped Emerald which is 10mm long and 6mm wide at the base. The center Emerald is surrounded by 1 carat and a half of Old Mine Cut diamonds. The diamonds in this necklace range from VS1-SI1 on clarity and F to I in color. To the side of the center Emerald are another 8 emeralds ranging between 1-1.9 Carats. The emeralds are all surrounded by a single row of old mine cut diamonds. There is also another 7 carats of Emerald Brilliolettes hanging from 18k yellow gold wire at the base of the necklace.
