Description
Here is a Spectacular, entirely Hand Wrought, Early, c1910 -1920 Navajo Coin Silver Squash Blossom Necklace with Natural Cerrillos Turquoise. This Old Squash is nearly identical to the one worn by the Navajo man pictured in the book by Elizabeth Compton Hegemann, "Navajo Trading Days". Elizabeth Compton Hegemann and her husband actually owned a trading post in the early 1900's. As you can see from the pictures the heavy, 1/2 inch wide, Hand-Made Coin Silver Beads are punched out from the inside, just as entirely hand made beads should be. The Blossoms themselves are about 1 1/2 inch long and the Naja is about 2.9 by 4 1/2 inches long. This is a substantial, Old Navajo Squash, weighing about 9.8 ounces and is the kind of piece sold at Christies and Sotheby's auctions for up to $8000. Here's your chance to own a classic, early Old Navajo Squash. Insurance is required on this piece. I will be listing more antique Native American jewelry and High Grade Turquoise soon so please Check out my other items!
