Laffi. The handwrought piece is made up of five silver, openwork, pelican figurals, which encircle the central gold figure of a bird in flight. The flying bird—boasting a splendid one-dimensional cubist form, again characteristic of Laffi—has been applied to a ring of silver and its eye is created with pale blue enameling. The entire work is framed by a wide, circular silver border. Fitted with a secure rollover clasp, the pinback also has a generous hidden bail, so that the piece can be worn on a chain.   Hallmarks: 18K, INDUSTRIA PERUANA, JVC, 925. Dimensions: 1-7/8” in diameter.
